Between the ninth and fifteenth centuries Sardinia was divided into four “partes”, independent and democratic state entities, at the head of which were the judges, representatives of the people, and could be both men and women.
The Judicate of Torres was the shortest, it included what today are the provinces of Porto Torres and Sassari. His story, of which few sources remain, speaks of a lineage studded with assassinations, betrayals and violence. Its symbol is the crenellated tower.
